形态描述：植株高15-40厘米。根状茎细长横走，密被棕色披针形鳞片。叶远生或近生；柄长5-20厘米，粗约1毫米，纤细，栗黑色，有光泽，基部被与根状茎上同样的鳞片，向上光滑，叶片卵状三角形，长10-25厘米，宽8-16厘米，尖头，基部楔形，中部以下多为二回羽状，中部以上为一回奇数羽状；羽片3-5对，互生，斜向上，有柄（长可达1.5厘米），基部一对较大，长4.5-9厘米，宽2.5-4厘米，长圆状卵形，圆钝头，一回（少二回）奇数羽状，侧生末回小羽片2-4对，互生，斜向上，相距6-15毫米，大小几相等或基部一对略大，对称或不对称的斜扇形或近斜方形，长1.2-2厘米，宽1-1.5厘米，上缘圆形，具2-4浅裂或深裂成条状的裂片，不育裂片先端钝圆形，具阔三角形的小锯齿或具啮蚀状的小齿，能育裂片先端截形、直或略下陷，全缘或两侧具有啮蚀状的小齿，两侧全缘，基部渐狭成偏斜的阔楔形，具纤细栗黑色的短柄（长1-2毫米），顶生小羽片扇形，基部为狭楔形，往往大于其下的侧生小羽片，柄可达1厘米；第二对羽片距基部一对2.5-5厘米，向上各对均与基部一对羽片同形而渐变小。叶脉多回二歧分叉，直达边缘，两面均明显。叶干后薄草质，草绿色或褐绿色，两面均无毛；叶轴、各回羽轴和小羽柄均与叶柄同色，往往略向左右曲折。孢子囊群每羽片3-10枚，横生于能育的末回小羽片的上缘；囊群盖长形、长肾形成圆肾形，上缘平直，淡黄绿色，老时棕色，膜质，全缘，宿存。孢子周壁具粗颗粒状纹饰，处理后常保存。
