形态描述：植株高20-40厘米。根状茎短而直立，密被鳞片；鳞片披针形，长4-5毫米，基部宽约1毫米，厚膜质，黑褐色，有虹色光泽，全缘或有少数纤毛。叶簇生；叶柄长5-12厘米，粗2-3毫米，灰褐色，上面有纵沟，与叶轴通体密被黑褐色或深褐色鳞片（鳞片纤维状，长3-4毫米，有虹色光泽，筛孔疏而大），老时陆续脱落而较稀疏；叶片阔披针形或线状披针形，长10-30厘米，中部宽3.5-7厘米，顶部渐尖，一回羽状；羽片18-28对，互生或下部的对生，斜展，几无柄或有极短柄，各对羽片相距1-1.5厘米，彼此接近，基部羽片略缩短并为长卵形，钝头，中部羽片较长，1.5-4厘米或较长，基部宽8-13毫米，菱状披针形，渐尖头或急尖头，基部不对称，上侧圆截形，略呈耳状突起，下侧长楔形，边缘有不整齐的粗大钝锯齿。叶脉两面均明显，隆起呈沟脊状，小脉多为二回二叉，也有二叉、三叉或单一，基部上侧的常为多回二叉分枝，极斜向上，彼此接近，不达叶边。叶纸质，干后棕褐色，两面（或仅上面）呈沟脊状，主脉上面疏被褐色星芒状的小鳞片，老时部分脱落；叶轴灰褐色，上面有纵沟。孢子囊群阔线形，长4-8毫米，棕色，极斜向上，彼此疏离，通常生于上侧小脉，自主脉向外行，不达叶边，沿主脉两侧排列整齐，或基部上侧的为不整齐的多行；囊群盖阔线形，黄棕色，后变灰棕色，厚膜质，全缘，生于小脉上侧的开向主脉，生于下侧的开向叶边，宿存。染色体2n=144。
